Founded in 2003, Townsend Communications is a full-service public relations and public affairs firm that focuses on all aspects of media relations. Kerry Townsend Jacob is a former journalist, political campaign press secretary and experienced public relations professional who has worked as a media consultant for Townsend Communications, a Los Angeles-based public relations and public affairs firm, since 2003.

Her clients include non-profits, political candidates and corporations from across the United States. As a former journalist, she understands the media well and has national contacts with the press. She specializes in helping clients acquire media coverage and training them to speak to the press.

She has served as press secretaries for several political campaigns, including gubernatorial and presidential campaigns in both New York and California. Her journalism work includes six and a half years in New York at both CNN and the Financial Times. She has also worked in Washington, DC and Topeka, Kansas for non-profits and lobbying firms in health policy positions, as well as on Capitol Hill.
